Achieve a life of balance with Karma Yeshe Rabgye’s eye-opening new book, Life’s Meandering Path.

The thirty-eight principles set forth, based on the teachings of Gautama Buddha, comprise a basic guide to living for anyone seeking peace and harmony.

The value of such qualities as individual responsibility, rational thought and the fulfillment of social obligations are discussed—as well as exactly how to implement each of these principles into one’s daily life.

It is not uncommon to experience a sense of fear or uncertainty in the oftentimes frantic, fast-paced world in which we live. But it is possible to move beyond those obstacles and that feeling of being overwhelmed, into a state where happiness and a lack of suffering dominate.

Learn how to juggle individual challenges, family obligations, social responsibility and personal growth while maintaining a vital sense of balance in the midst of a chaotic world.

All of this is possible without needing to call oneself a Buddhist or Christian or Muslim. Regardless of religion or faith, readers will learn how to achieve some much needed peace in this enriching guide to life.

Ordinarily, I don't read books when the author has a religious title as I know s/he will only be spewing the party line. However, I decided to take a chance on this author and I'm glad I did. Unlike most clergy, he presents Buddhism outside the box (Secular Buddhism). The Mangala Sutta is regularly mindlessly chanted by the Buddhist faithful with the superstitious anticipation of good luck results without any personal effort. The teachings in the sutta are ignored. Rabgye takes each of the 38 principles of the sutta and uses them as teaching points. The goal is the lessening of suffering in this life, the point of Secular Buddhism. I benefited greatly from these teachings, so much so that I bought the paper book for my personal library. If you are a traditional Classical Buddhist, you probably won't care for the book. But, if you are a seeker after wisdom or a Secular Buddhist, you will certainly enjoy this book.

Life Meandering Path A Secular Approach to Gautama Buddha Guide to Living edition by Karma Yeshe Rabgye Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

A great overview of the range and depth of psychological diligence required of those embracing the dharma. If you want to know what Buddhist mindfulness really involves, read this book.
The author, using simple examples, makes the principal tenants of Buddhism easy to understand and relate to. He strips out the rituals and gets to its core. Very moving
Karma Yeshe Rabgye's 'Meandering Path' does not take us to obscure mystical destinations or promise us salvation in some religious belief. Instead it leads us to accept our human condition and act more skillfully to reduce the suffering we create. What I liked about the book was that it provides practical tools for change in the form of daily reviews and contemplations that build minfulness and awareness of the thoughts and actions that we need to reform to live a more sane and peaceful life. You don't need to be religious to benefit from this book, as the author states it's a spiritual practice that relates to personal inner experience not to religious faith or belief. The book really is a breath of fresh air without any religious mumbo jumbo you find in many books of this genre. It is written in clear simple language with honest examples from the author's life, highly recommended!
This has been very eye opening to me. It clearly explained some concepts of Buddhism that I've struggled with, using a very no-nonsense approach. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is struggling to see past the tradition, culture, and religion surrounding and obscuring the core of Buddhism.

Some parts seem a little repetitive, but in such a way the drives in the point. The author really stresses meditation and daily review sessions, but the material alone will have you thinking for a long time after even without meditation. If you aren't familiar with Buddhism, this is a great start. I'd probably recommend it to more experienced people as well.
Excellent book! This book breaks down the Mangala sutra in an easy to understand way. Karma Yeshe Rabgye does a masterful job of stripping away the ritualistic aspects of Buddhism and conveying it's contents in a secular way. This book contains extremely valuable tools for a happier life and a more peaceful existence. Whether we go on to another life or not, what matters is here and now. Live in the present and love everyone.
This book is quite valuable and his advice for a daily review and reflection is worthy of action. I have it 4, rather than 5 stars because I found it to be a difficult read and suspect that many readers will not finish it.

It is a comprehensive study of the Mangala Sutra. The trouble is that it could have been a shorter book without loss. I'm glad that I read it and plan to print out a concise Mangala Sutra for reflection on my own actions.

A bit too wordy, but worthwhile.
Life’s Meandering Path was an excellent portrayal of how to follow Gautama Buddha’s teachings along the eightfold path. I enjoyed his first book “How to Catch a Snake”as well, but found this one even more simplistic and informative on actual practice. Looking forward to more from Ragbye!
